Bear Needs Your Help!

UPDATED: Link below to donate to Bear's fund and SoS will match any donations made through them up to $400! The deadline for this offer is 6 p.m. PST 17 December 2006!

This beautiful young Siberian Husky was found with a horrific injury to his back in Chatsworth, GA.

The Murray County Animal Shelter operates on donations and does not have funds to help this poor boy.

Town and Country Veterinarian Clinic has operated on poor Bear to help his pain on the promise that they would get reimbursed, so funds are needed to repay the clinic for the surgery (Approximately $600 if all goes well). Plus he was just diagnosed as heartworm positive, so after his recovery and he gains some weight, he'll need to undergo heartworm treatment (another $300).

The Vet said it looks like a large animal took a huge bite out of this poor guy's back. With surgery he should be almost back to normal and will be put up for adoption.
(WARNING, BELOW THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO DONATE, THERE ARE PICTURES OF BEAR'S INJURY. THEY ARE VERY GRAPHIC)

Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
Please mark for “Bear” Siberian Husky from Murray County Shelter.

Do you Have a Home for a Gimpy Senior?

Bandit is currently at the Ritchie County Humane Society and desperately needs a home.

Apparently Bandit lost his tongue while chewing on an electric hedge clipper. He's able to eat and drink and not losing weight, but for a senior pup (he's approximately 10-12 years old) with a disability, he's probably not on the top of the list for adoption.

Please contact the shelter for more information on Bandit:

Won't You Love Me, I Need a Home!

Hi, my name is Paddles, and I'm at the City of Norco Animal Control Department in Southern California. I'm a very sweet, male (neutered) older dog, weighing in at 20-25 pounds. Some people here think I'm an over-grown Chihuahua, but it doesn't matter what breed I am, I'm cute and cuddly.

You may wonder why I'm listed here on this gimpydogs site, since I look perfectly normal in this picture, nestled in with some warn laundry (my favorite thing to do), well its because I have flat feet.

The people at the shelter don't know if this is a birth defect, or from a lack of proper nutrition at a young age, but I have funny feet. Even though I have funny feet, I do get around really good, its just that I move slower than most dogs.

Since a lot of people want fast, young puppies, and not a slow older pups such as myself, I've been passed by time and again for a loving home.
I'm housebroken, very sweet, and won't take up a lot of space in your home, but I will take up a lot of space in your heart if you would just give me a chance!

If you happen to know of anyone that wants a cute, cuddly, slow moving pup like me, could you tell them about me? Maybe the'd like to visit me, and fall in love with me, and give me a home of my very own!

Please call the
City of Norco Animal Control Department
951 737-8972
And ask for Paddles!

Help a Gimpy

For those of you that want to do something to help gimpy dogs, but don't have the room in your house, or have allergies, or whatever the reason... think about donating to help those dogs that are either too sick to be adopted, or only have a little time left in this world.

Please visit the MaPaw Siberian Husky Rescue and Referral site and virtually adopt some of these poor gimpies. They've had a rough life, and now have found a place where they are safe and loved, for what little time they have left. Won't you help one of them?

Can Someone Help Blue?

Jack Lassiter was murdered and his body was not discovered for 5 days, leaving his beloved dogs in the house with his body.

Blue, a Siberian Husky, lived with Jack and five other dogs before their beloved master was killed. Now Blue sits in an animal shelter, afraid and alone. Blue is cage agressive, and needs someone with a special heart to see behind her fear and help her find love to fill her heart again.

She needs a special person who knows how to work with a dog with behavior problems such as
these, preferably without the use of a crate.

If you can find a place in your home or rescue, please contact Joanne Rhodes at 901-218-7544 if you are qualified and wiling to take poor Blue
