Help a Pudgy Blind Husky

Myrtle is a 7-8 year old adorable red and white female Siberian husky who is as sweet as she is pudgy! Deemed unadoptable due to bilateral blindness she came into rescue and within 48 hours was traversing the property, up and down stairs like she had lived here her entire life! She's absolutely amazing. Blindness isn't going to keep this gal down! She's very affectionate and gets along well with other dogs. Would do well with older children. She loves riding in the car! She's housebroken and crate trained. Her blindness is caused by a bilateral luxation or dislocation of the lens and mild glaucoma so she should have daily drops to control the progress of the glaucoma. Her tail is only about half the normal length of a husky but it's unknown if this is congenital or due to trauma. Please consider opening up your heart to this wonderful girl. You won't be disappointed! Myrtle is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and already microchipped. If you'd like more information about this cutie please contact Wing and a Prayer Rescue at stewball3@comcast.net

Saturday April 19 LKAA will be hosting fun contests and CGC testing

If there are any special needs dog people and/or rescue groups in the
Long Island, New York area and want to set up a special needs dog
table, let me know! I would be willing to get this done. I know a
lot of the people at Old Westbury Gardens (it's a BEAUTIFUL
gardens). I'll even bring Dakota as an example of a rescue
deaf/visually impaired Aussie who is living the good life now -
lol! It so happens that Dakota and Mocha do agility with LI
Agility, which will be having demos going on.

If anyone is interested, please let me know!
